Recent Americas Best Value Padre Review: "For the price we paid, I cannot say enough positive things about this hotel. My family travels a lot and our preference is to find local, cheap lodging. Sometimes we've hit winners and sometimes the accomodations have been terrible. How about food squished behind the bedr How about the bedsheets and pillowcases are all different patternsr How about so scary (felons were released here from prison) that we crowded all our luggage around us and put a chair under the doorknobr The Padre Trail had none of these. Was it a little noisy outside (noisy hotel guests and a bit of helicopter activity) yes, but was it the hotel's faultr no. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, it was walking distance to the charms of Old Town. The continental breakfast the next morning was definitely doable - nothing special, but a nice touch. The Padre Trail will be my choice for quite some time for all my visits to San Diego (about 3 -4 times a year)"
