Recent Andaz Hyatt Review: "The Ivy Hotel, and the included Eden Rooftop, Envy Nightclub and Quarter Restaurant and Bar are by and far the nicest boutique hotel Ive seen in some time. I am aware that an expensive boutique hotel should have certain amenities, but I can assure you the Ivy has stepped it up a notch. The Maxi-Bar in the room has full size bottles and a variety of products and goodies like Ive only ever seen in a high end boutique grocery store. No run of the mill here. The appointments are minimal but very exquisite. The 42" plasma plays modern jazz and funk as you enter the room. The bathrooms are beautiful and artistic. The beds are incredibly seductful and luxurious. The hotel is staffed by some of the most professional and courteous staff ive seen, whom not only make you feel welcome, but are very personable as well. I was in town for business and invited a client to join me at the hotel for dinner and drinks. The valet staff was both accomodating and prepared for his arrival by promising to hold a spot in an already overfilled garage. There were a number of small problems at the hotel during my stay, due in part to the high profile nature of the Eden Rooftop and the fact that its new. The Management not only remedied the situation, but went beyond the necessary to ensure my stay was pleasurable. My only remaining complaint, and one which the Managment promised to address was the lack of special accomodations at the in-house entertainment facilities. My guest an me were had to compete with the general public for food and drink which took an inordinate amount of time. The hotel has promised to offer hotel guests a dedicated service staff in the future to prevent this issue. Elsewise, this was a wonderful, artsy, boutique hotel that I will look forward to stayin in again during future visits to San Diego."
