Recent Best Western Island Palms Review: "My boyfriend and I stayed at the Island Palms to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful time. Our room faced the Marina, and the views were gorgeous and so unique. My boyfriend even commented that it was "the coolest hotel I've ever been to." Our room was basic, but clean and fairly roomy. The bathroom was recently remodeled and had granite countertops and a spacious shower. We also enjoyed the free parking because parking can get pretty expensive in San Diego (sometimes more than $30 a day for overnight valet parking). We visited Cabrillo National Monument, La Jolla, and Torrey Pines State Park and the hotel location was very convenient. It is also very close to the airport. We went to the hot tub/pool area one day, and it was very nice and relaxing. They have new lawn chairs and the pool area overlooks the marina. Even better is that I left my brand new prescription glasses in my room and they called me the very next day after I called the front desk to report them. Housekeeping called me back promptly, and they had found them and they are shipping them to me! The staff was very attentive and helpful with restaurant and sightseeing activities. I think the value you get for the price is exceptional and you will be very happy with your stay."
