Recent Best Western Stratford Review: "This hotel is superb, where the staff is exceptionally accommodating. The woman at the front desk not only gave us relevant insider's info - about where the best sandwich place is located and how to get there via a scenic route along a sandy bluff - she also upgraded us to a lovely suite with an incredible ocean view. Not to mention easy walking distance to the Del Mar Plaza, with its selection of quaint eateries and shops.
Whenever back in Del Mar, I will be coming back to the BW Stratford Inn for sure."

| Could walk to the ocean, downtown Del Mar-close to the interstate too. Large sized rooms with beautifully redone bathrooms and kitchenettes. Pools were well maintained and continental breakfast was a great experience. A wonderful place to stay with family. |

| This was a great little spot right near the heart of Del Mar, relatively close to everything. The room was nice, the view was amazing, and walking around the neighborhood was even better. Absolutely loved it! |

| We were pleasantly surprised. We usually stay in 3-5 star hotels so we were hesitant about the mixed reviews. Our room was in the older part of the hotel but very large, had a small kitchenette, large bathroom, up to date decor kind of beachy. We were in town for a week just to relax and we did! We will stay there again. |

| well designed for crowded,compacted coastline; quiet clientele; almost a resort in atmosphere and scope. older, but nice furnishings; linens need updating, nice pool areas and lanai suites and patio and breakfast room. only a continental breakfast (coffee in room better tasting). |

| This hotel is centrally located in the San Diego-Carlsbad area. Close to dining and shopping in Del Mar. Close to I5 and provides a non-congested route to I15 via the Ted Williams Parkway(56). The room was very large, could use a little more furniture, but you are in San Diego! you are not supposed to be in your room. The room was clean, bed comfortable, shower had a new fixture that provided plenty of water and pressure. Breakfast had plenty of choices of pastries and bread. Hard boiled eggs were the only protein source. Coffee was plentiful, would have liked to see some green tea, but their was a good variety of herbal teas. |

| We stayed at the hotel with kids. The beach is about a 10 minute walk, stores and restaurants are convenient and close by. The only thing we did not like was the cleanliness of the hotel. The carpet had spots and there were fingerprints on the chair backs and microwave. The bathroom fixtures were old, and sometimes hot water came out of the cold sink faucet handle. That said, the price was very good for a room with a kitchenette. Since we didn't spend much time in the hotel, it didn't bother us too much. The towels and sheets were clean. |

| Our room was spacious and clean. However, I would have to say this hotel is definitely showing it's age. Although our room was clean, everything in the room was showing some wear-and-tear.
I did check that I would recommend this hotel, but with some reservations. The hotel is about 7 blocks from the beach access areas so it would be difficult to walk to the beach if you plan on carrying a lot of stuff for the day.
Again, the interior was showing it's age. Being on the ground floor, we could not open our windows at night and let the wonderful air in.
We would consider staying here again, but I would definitely want an upstairs room. The grounds and pool areas were very nicely maintained. Very little interaction with the staff, but they seemed courteous. The included breakfast was limited, but adequate. |

| Nice location but the quality of the rooms were average to poor. Old furniture and a bit run down. Next to the beach so this would be a good bargain with the kids for a quick summer outing. |

| I was impressed with the layout of this hotel, as it looks like condos, not a regular hotel. There are two sparkling pools, and from some of the upper units a beach view. It's less than a mile to the Del Mar popular beach area, so we ended up walking into the little downtown area and then to the beach several times easily. If I return, I will definitely pay a little extra for the units with a view. They have nice balconies. |
