Recent Bristol Hotel Review: "I've stayed at quite a few different hotels all around the country and this is one of the best hotels that I've ever stayed at. It's a slightly older hotel but you can tell it's been renovated and cleaned up. The area is right in downtown next to the Gaslamp District, so it's a nice spot that's close to everything. If you're going to complain about the homeless people, then don't bother visiting downtown San Diego because it's just a fact of life there.
What really separates this hotel from all the others, though, is the staff... If I didn't know any better, I'd think I was staying at the Ritz Carlton. The people at the front desk were amazing. They even managed to keep some photos for us that we left in our room and they offered to mail them back to me. We went to the hotel's small bar for a few drinks before we went out for the night and Bob, one of the bartenders there, was absolutely incredible. Great drink suggestions, great personality, and just a very genuine person. Even the room service people smiled at us when we were just walking down the hall and you could tell they cared about making you feel welcome.
Great hotel and I highly recommend it to anyone, especially for the price that we paid for our room... It's a great place to stay while you're enjoying San Diego."
