Recent Dana Mission Bay Sea Review: "My husband and I planned a 2-week tour of California for our honeymoon with the first stop being San Diego. We only booked one night at this hotel from the start, wanting to make sure it was clean and in a good location, and we ended up spending 6 nights there because we were so impressed with the hotel and San Diego in general. I can't say enough  about the wonderful service at this hotel, the great staff, clean, comfortable rooms, beautiful oceanfront location, and wonderful restaurant (Firefly). We unfortunately ended up there during the blackout in Sept. 2011, and not only were the hotel staff very helpful and friendly, the hotel cooked all of the remaining food in their kitchens, brought food in, and provided dinner for guests at no charge. The bartender even poured me a great glass of wine to enjoy on our balcony, since the power was likely to be out for hours if not days. The front desk staff upgraded us to a wonderful room with a balcony and oceanfront view, since we were on our honeymoon, and all of the staff at the property were amazing. Firefly restaurant was excellent, we had dinner there twice, outside on the deck; and the pool and hot tub were very clean and inviting. The only negatives I could possibly list are that the other restaurant on property was a bit more family-friendly than we were looking for, and the pool in that location was not as inviting (for adults) as the one near Firefly. If you're going to stay here, spend a few extra dollars and splurge on one of the balcony, oceanfront rooms. They are very much worth it for the amazing views and extra space to lounge around."
