Recent Doubletree Downtown Review: "My wife and I decided to take our young son for his first trip to the SD Zoo and booked a night here at the Doubletree in downtown. We were very satisfied with the hotel overall. The location is great - right off the 5 freeway (though we didn't hear any freeway noise from our room on the 15th floor and opposite side of the building). Parking was easy,  albeit the lanes are very narrow (we saw someone scrap the side of their SUV pretty bad!). Check-in was painless, fast and efficient. We're the type of family that really values a low-stress experience and everything surrounding our stay at this hotel fell nicely in line with that. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat due to the ease of arriving/checking in, helpful and pleasant staff and excellent location to San Diego's top attractions. You aren't going to be wowed with lavish amenities, but it's a clean, safe and well kept hotel."
