Recent Hard Rock Review: "I had read so many negative comments about this hotel and its staff and I have to say that none of that bad stuff happened to me (crosses fingers and hopes that no surprise charges appear on credit card statement). I took my bf for his 24th birthday and we shared a room with my cousin and her bf. Our ages range between 24-28... I think it's important to mention this. As we were heading up to our room there were people in a room with the music on loud walking in between rooms and drinking and having a good time. They weren't too loud and they were not being obnoxious but some reviewers would have complained about this. This is a party hotel- HARD ROCK HOTEL- if you are not up for noise, don't stay here. If you're going out to the Gaslamp to party and have some fun, this is the spot for you. I would not stay here with my 6 year old daughter... definitely not- I wouldn't describe this as a "family" hotel. Anyway, they let us check in early, about 30 minutes early. The females at the front desk were great, explained everything, told us about their bars/lounges.restaurant/guestlists... etc. She asked what kind of music we like and as we walked into the room they had that kind of music playing- I was impressed. It's true what they say about the beds- VERY COMFY! The clock radio had a connection for your iPod- very cool, you could even bring your video console and hook it up to the tv if you'd like. What else... oh, ONE COMPLAINT- the soda from the mini-fridge was NASTY... well, it was expired, maybe that's why, but that's minor stuff in my opinion. I've never had nasty soda, but eh, no big. Room was fine, the staff was great, I have no big complaints, I would actually love to come and stay here again. It was a really cool spot... seriously. Maryjane's, downstairs: food was tasty and drinks were strong. Moonstone Lounge, 4th floor: it was alright. We went up there at night, it wasn't all that but I guess for many it's a spot to go to. Sweetwater Bar, downstairs: It was coo"
