Recent Horton Grand Hotel Review: "Many reviews on here had negative comments to say about the hotel. I almost disagree with every single one of them. The only two things that were inconvienent about the hotel was, 1) Parking, 2) The Staff. Parking was inconvienent because you had to get valle parking and were not guarented a parking place if you had to leave the hotel and return. They  have a very small parking lot fitting only about 20 guest cars. But, if they couldn't get you a parking place the fee for parking would be reversed. The staff were sometimes cranky. Mainly because I think they were stressed out about getting every car a parking place all at once. There was only one employee working the parking. But, I found as soon as night came, the staff became showed more hospitality...you just have to be patient with some people. The hotel is at a perfect location in the center of the gaslamp district; walking distance to everything. Little Italy only 5 mins away also. We had a great time at our stay at the hotel and enjoyed the hotel's old victorian feeling very much. It was very beautiful. Also, as far as rumors of it being haunted, I have to say I did not feel or see a thing. The staff even admitted it to only be rumors that they had worked there 12 years and never saw anything."
