Recent Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Review: "My husband and I and our two young sons stayed at this hotel for 5 days during our sons' school break. The hotel had recently completed some major renovations, and we were pleasantly surprised to see how lovely everything was. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. Our room on the 15th floor of the tower had expansive views of the ocean, bay, pools and marina. Truly, the views were spectacular! The hotel has 3 pools, a jacuzzi and 3 water slides. Our boys loved the pools and slides; however, the water slide pools' temperature was very cold, as those two pools were shaded by buildings until the afternoon. The main pool without slides was in sunlight most of the day, so the water temperature there was great. The hotel really should heat that waterslide pools so that guests don't freeze. Also, my only other criticism was that there were not enough lounge chairs to accommodate all of the guests, so we were constantly "hunting" for chairs. The hotel should invest in more lounge chairs. The hotel restaurant was very good, as well, although the AC wasn't working and it was very hot inside. We ended up eating on the outside patio in the shade by the marina, which was very nice. Overall, this hotel is wonderful. It is close to everything in San Diego - the airport, downtown, shopping, dining, the beach in Mission Bay, and a minute from Sea World. I do wish that parking and internet access were included in the room rates, though. It's another $20/day for parking and $10/day for internet access, so make sure that you factor in those charges to your room rate. Overall, we had a fantastic vacation at this hotel, and I would highly recommend it to others. Next time I will try out the spa, which I hear is very good."
