Very cool boutique hotel in downtown San Diego. Service was good and the room was sleek and modern. If you are going with friends, be advised that the showers are in the room and are open--there is no door and the glass is translucent. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. My only beef was that the surrounding bars made things very loud  and it got to the point where it almost seemed like people were laughing and drinking IN my room. The interior of the hotel was loud as well--I could hear everything that the staff did and said (I think because my room was right at the top of the stairs leading to the lobby. Ultimately the room was comfortable and service good, but I would not stay here again.

Great location it you want to bar hop. My room was on the 4th floor directly above Croce's Bar & Night Club so it was a little loud even mid week. Room was well appointed, comfortable bed but needed the "Wave" generator to mast the Night Club.

O hotel fica em um dos prédios antigos de Gaslamp mas é todo reformado num estilo super moderno desenvolvido pelo designer da Ferrari ou algo parecido. Ótima localização para quem gosta de bares, restaurantes e compras´. Dá para fazer tudo isso a pé! Poucas milhas de distância das outras principais atrações de San Diego. Os funcionários são super simpáticos  e todas as noites apareciam cookies ou muffins e cafezinho no quarto como cortezia! Sempre deliciosos! Por ficar em uma área movimentada e de vida noturna o quarto era extremamente barulhento. Fiquei hospedada no quinto andar e mesmo assim era possível ouvir tudo o q falavam na rua! Não recomendo para quem tem sono leve. Outra questão q já foi mencionada aqui antes é sobre o banheiro ser aberto. O box do meu quarto era de vidro e ficava dentro do quarto e não possuia porta, ou seja, privacidade zero! Se vc não estiver viajando com uma pessoa bem íntima eu não recomendo! Resumindo, fora o barulho achei bem legal o hotel e ficaria hospedada novamente!

I recently stayed at The Keating Hotel in San Diego and loved every minute of it. The staff are all incredibly helpful, polite, respectful and extremely friendly (and all young and gorgeous to boot - sigh!). The room looked exactly like the pictures on their website which is always nice as I am sure I am not the only person who has booked a hotel and  then checked in and thought I must be in the wrong place! The little treats they deliver to your room each night are scrumptious. Each room has its own doorbell so when they come round to deliver your treats they ring your bell so that you feel like you are at home (a cute little touch). The location is amazing as it is situated right in between 4th and 5th Street. You are a one minute walk to Horton Plaza Mall, about a 3 minute walk to the hop on hop off tour and right in the heart of all the shops, restaurants and bars. Being a female travelling alone I wanted to be right in the heart of the city as didn't want to be taking taxis or walking too far alone at night and this was perfect for that. The only downside to staying right in the heart of the action is that you do incur all the noise from the bars but I am sure you could always ask to be put on the other side of the hotel. My room overlooked 5th Street and was rather noisy (however I did stay there during Halloween) but this didn't bother me at all as I was just happy to be in such close proximity to everthing. I would totally recommend The Keating Hotel to anyone and would definitely stay there again if I am lucky enough to get back to San Diego.

I am happy that I booked the hotel in the website; if I had seen the lobby, I hadn't wanted to stay there. The rooms were nice loft design but the entrance looked like a bordell, specially now with the halloween decorations. I had my doubts when entering the red lobby. But it turned to be nice personnel and beautiful room, so I am satisfied. The price  was overrated to compared with other 5 star hotels at the area

Amazing!!! Me and my husband stayed 1 week beg oct at this fantastic magic,curios,well mantained,small,super service htl.If you are looking fore special travel memories this is the best place to stay! We had a junior suite and the confort and the details where so great that we where stunned. Beds,pillows everything was perfect. Thank u !

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights in a "stanza" located at the back which the music noise is acceptable. I have no complaint with the open bathroom but the hairdryer definitely needs cleaning. Overall is still a nice hotel but needs better cleaning and maintenance.

This hotel is not for the 70 year old couple that is visiting their grand children, it is for the 20-30 year old couple that wants to have a fun weekend in San Diego, CA. We had the "Stanza" room and it was well worth the money. The staff was more than friendly (and very accommodating)... The only tiff is that they charge $35/night for valet but the  entire block does that, not just this hotel. They are the cheapest place to bring your pet ($25 a night) and they have a mat out front with water, a place for the pet to relax, use the restroom, etc. The room was very intense. The shower had no door (sexy) and a giant hanging spout, and sheets/comforter in each bed are to die for. Highly recommend this place for a romantic get away or a place for a single guy.

omg!! the Keating hotel has by far been the best hotel room/service i've been thru and its right in the heart to downtown San Diego. Will definetly return on my next visit to San Diego. My wife and i enjoyed our stay there soo very much and customer service was amazing. overall a perfect stay.
