Recent Marina Inn Review: "We were looking for an affordable place within walking distance of the Maritime Museum's tall ships on the waterfront, and chose this after looking at a number of options, including all comments and facilities. It turned out to be just what we hoped to find. The rate was very affordable for the area, less expensive than almost anything else we found, so the budget was happy.
The room looked as though it had been remodeled recently, and it was very nicely done. The king-size bed was firm and comfortable. Everything was VERY CLEAN, which is extremely important to me. I was especially impressed by the bathroom: it was in better shape than those in far more expensive hotels we've stayed in! Even the water spots were cleaned off the shower fittings, and not a hint of mildew or cobwebs anywhere. The bathroom also looked recently remodeled, and the paint was very precisely applied and the huge new mirror was great. The shower curtain is the kind that bows out so there is plenty of room for even big people to wash in comfort without their elbows constantly slamming into things. The towels are not thick, and only 2 are provided, but they are very absorbent. 2 small bars of soap and 2 small bottles of shampoo were provided as well.
The night staff member who checked us in was very pleasant and helpful, even though it was close to midnight, and the morning check-out staff was efficient and organized. The continental breakfast was surprisingly varied for such a small place: cold cereal, bran and blueberry muffin bread, coffee, milk, juice, and fresh fruit. The coffee pot in the room had 2 sets of coffee & fixing-packets, which was nice as I like my coffee very sweet. The TV worked fine and there was a decent selection of channels. We did not use the microwave, safe, or fridge.
There was some noise from the airport, sometimes quite loud, but not until the morning: nothing woke us up during the night. We did not hear the trains either, though the tracks are close.
We'll stay"

San Diego’s waterfront airport lies northwest of downtown, which is home to the San Diego Convention Center, PetCo Park stadium, and the Gaslamp Quarter’s. That historic neighborhood’s restaurants and bars are the hub of the city’s nightlife. Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo form a green swath in this urban jungle. Offshore, Coronado Island offers postcard views of the city skyline.
