| I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I had a beautiful bay view, the room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is also in a great neighborhood, directly adjacent to the Convention Center and a stone's throw from the Gaslamp Quarter. I'll be back! |

| The service was excellent, the staff are very polite and friendly. I love it being pet friendly except the $75 pet fee is a little high. The double beds are little small and the mattress is little soft for me. Otherwise, it is a good place to stay. |

| Good location. Walking distance to the Horton Mall. Desk clerk very friendly. Be prepared to spend $28 a night for parking. |

| The Marriott Marquis is a great location for anyone, but especially for a family who enjoys all that So. Cal has to offer. The facility is exceptional. The room was decent size and the views extraordinary. My wife and I were engaged at the Embarcadero 17 years ago and only now had the opportunity to return w/our children to retreat at this great location.
There's plenty of fun for the adults and children alike. Walking the Marina during the day and doing some shopping was an added bonus.
We can't wait to return. This site will likely be a traditional family destination for the holidays!

| This hotel is under construction. Also if you are staying on the "city" side of the hotel you will hear the trolley crossing bells all night - even on the top floor. |

| Within walking distance of Seaport Village, Gaslamp District, Aircraft Carrier Musem. We rented a car, but a bus/lightrail system is across the street. Short drive to Coronado Island and Balboa Park. We had a great trip and would stay there again. |

| Thoroughly enjoyed a weekend stay at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina Resort. The resort and room were clean and looked to be recently remodeled. Valet and Bell service is available, as is self-parking on the premises.
The resort offers balcony rooms (north tower) with views of the bay and city. The pools and jacuzzi were clean and appeared well kept-up. Roy's, an upscal fusion restaurant is on the property, past the outdoor cocktail bar, fire pits, and heated lounges. The marina and Seaport village are within walking distance and offer additional recreation, dining, and shopping, or just nice places to take a walk or a tour of the bay. For the more adventurous, the Gas Lamp Quarter is nearby, and Old Town San Diego is a 10-minute drive by car. A Red Trolley station is located across the street.
The resort include amenities such as an on-site Starbucks, additional restaurant and lounge choices, a wine and cheese bar, gift shop, on-site fitness center (which we took advantage of), and several community rooms including a full-size ballroom.
This is not a "discount" hotel, but the price was a good value considering the quality and comfort of our stay, location, and courtesy of the resort staff.
Less than thrilling was the parking fee (which wasn't a huge deal, but it would have been nice to know about before-hand). Our experience dining at Roy's was good, but the Roy's in Woodland Hills provides a far better dining experience. Lack of kitchen-fresh bread and "boring" tasting starch choices detracted a bit from what we were expecting from previous Roy's restaurant experiences.
Overall, 5 stars for the Resort stay. 3 1/2 stars for Roy's; they really need to be more in line with other locations in that fine chain. We'll be back soon for another stay! |
