| The motel was in a neighborhood far enough from the freeway which was a plus. It was probably the cheapest place to stay that close to the ocean and the staff was very friendly, a big plus. All of the rooms had a view of the ocean, but would advise to try and get a room upstairs...a better view. The motel had a heated swimming pool, but no jacuzzi, didn't use it anyway. They had a continental breakfast every morning from 7-9am, which we didn't expect. This motel is a good place to stay if your not planning on spending a lot of time in your room. There was a dog park right next to the motel and pets were welcome in the motel. The beach was only about 2-5 minutes walking distance and was great for surfing. The only drawback to the motel, if you want to call it that, was that the departure path for San Diego International Airport was right in line with the motel, however, surprizingly enough, it didn't affect our sleeping. All-in-all a fairly decent place to stay. |

| the room I had was in a state of renovation but very comfortable.
the staff was very nice and very responsive.
the continental breakfast could be better, the pickings were slim.
the location by the water and proximity to the beach and downtown O.B. is great. Nice neighborhood for walking and many resturants,bars and local grocers within easy walking distance.
great access to frwy yet away from the highway traffic noise.
I enjoyed watching the people playing with their dogs in the morning in the park/beach behind the hotel. |

| On our trip to San Diego, we wanted to be close to the beach but have to spend a fortune on a hotel stay. This hotel fit the bill - cheap and on the beach. The staff were friendly and they provide a decent continental breakfast. Our first day there was cold and couldn't spend much time on the beach, but the hotel pool was 90 degrees so that substituted in a pinch.
Regarding the quality of the hotel room, make sure your exectations are in check: the rooms are not new, spotless and pristine. However, it's hard to beat the price for being right on the beach. A friend we were vacationing with put it like this: "I don't go on vacation to critique the hotel room. I go for to experience the culture, the cusine, the city..."
They do allow dogs on the bottom floor (fine by us). The are in the process of adding air conditioning units to all rooms on the bottom floor as well. Previously, only second floor rooms had them. |

| It was a nice little hotel but if you got a regular room do not expect a A/C in the room there is a ceiling fan and the out door breeze is nice but if you want quit and it is a hot and humid day, forget it |
