Recent Pacific Terrace Hotel Review: "The sophisticated tropical setting was great!! The rooms were very beautiful, especially the large balcony overlooking the ocean and large, clean pool. The decor is exquisite; full length shutters that slide, Berber type carpet, granite counter tops, marble flooring, large wooden furniture. All much better than the pictures. The single rooms are large and through hotel.com the price was well worth it. The staff was great, very helpful and friendly. We were there Monday-Thursday and the crowds were small. Because of the design of the hotel, crying children were easily heard but for us there was only one and only cried a couple of times. Shops and restaurants all within a couple of beach blocks walk. Choice of high end restaurants (JRDN) and many local beach restaurants. You can't miss the "all you can eat crab" on Tuesdays at the Ale House, it was a blast. Late night at Henneseys was great too. The hot spot of Pacific Beach (PB) was a little further but it was still close. The beach was great for swimming and also had designated surfing areas of which there were many surfers to watch. One of the best guarded beaches I have ever seen, lifeguards everywhere. Each hotel room had large, soft beach towels that we could take to the beach. Even though the hotel itself did not have a restaurant, ordering room service was easy. There were a number of restaurants that serviced the hotel. We ordered lunch in from the Firehouse Restaurant (through room service) and it was delivered to our room in approx. 30 minutes. The food was hot and delicious. 18% tip was included in the order but it was worth it. Parking was $20 but included free valet. There were free spots on the street but on the weekends forget it. We went to the gas lamp district one day and the drive was not too good. Lots of traffic and took a good 30 minutes. Maybe a taxi or shuttle would be more relaxing. I have lived in So Cal for 50 years and Pacific Beach is one of the best locations for a vacation that I ha"
