My recommendation is qualified. It is all about location which is great if you want to stay in the Gaslamp area. All the other comments about small room, slow elevator and noise are true. We were happy the could store our golf bags. If they hadn't, moving around the room would have been difficult. Two nights were okay, I woukdn't to stay longer.

The hotel was great. This is not a luxurious hotel... but it definitely met our needs. The hotel was very clean and the customer service was great. The hallways, elevator and room were small however it had this historic atmosphere. The only thing that was a little bothersome was the traffic noise in the morning, however i would definitely stay there  again!

Hôtel très sympa avec un côté très "classic" du vielle hôtel des années 30 . Le personnel est globalement charmant, dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de petit dej compris mais un restaurant attenant au restaurant fait des breakfast SOMPTUEUX. Franchement profitez du décalage horaire pour vous lever tôt et prendre un méga petit déj chez eux , je suis un bon  mangeur mais honnêtement on tient aisément jusqu'au soir même en visitant toute la journée... Sinon la localisation de l'hôtel est idéale vous êtes en plein Gas Lamp ... à 2 pas de tous les bars sympas , du fameux "house of blues" , pas loin du port et du sea port village. Vous pouvez aussi prendre le Tram (sur la 5ème av) qui vous conduira aux différents lieux de la ville (balboa park,...): en bref un hôtel à recommander pour les gens qui veulent profiter de leurs séjours pour visiter (ce n'est pas un hôtel pour rester uniquement dans l'hôtel)et bouger.

i read the reviews - I wasn't expecting anything fancy. I liked the queen beds split into separate sleeping areas, I liked the old fashioned elevators and the upstairs terrace. The showers were a little smail. I read complains about the noice but I didn't hear anything. You are downtown and close to everything.

Meget billigt og hyggeligt hotel - og fin beliggenhed. Desværre kunne varmeapparatet på mit værelse ikke slukkes - hverken af mig eller personalet - så det blev iikke noget godt CO2 regnskab med åbent vindue og fuld knald på radiatoren..... men min veninde i nabo væreslet var meget tilfreds - Det trænger nok til en gang vedligholdelse...

The hotel was beautiful. The room was a little small though. It was very clean, and right next to a nice restaurant. I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is spectacular visually and we were impressed with the old world charm. It was great to step back in tiime and experience what was considered luxury in the past. and the plumbing really does need to be updated. During our seven day stay neither my husband nor myself enjoyed our bathing experience. Because of this fact I could not recommend  this hotal to friends or family members.

The rooms were smaller but this is typical for a downtown San Diego hotel from this era. The room was clean and overall the property was in great shape. The property was very close to the House of Blues and The Beer Co was basically across the street. Perfect for a HOB night out. The coolest part was the rooftop patio. The San Diego skyline and downtown  area was incredible from the roof. We had a group of 10 or so people and the patio could have easily fit 40 more without being crowded. A few beverages on the roof was an awesome way to watch the sunset and get ready for the night out! I'll stay here again.

Das Personal nicht sehr hilfsbereit, die Zimmer klein und nicht gut nach außen isoliert, so das wir im 6. Stock trotzdem sehr viel Lärm hatten. Wenn man sein Auto haben wollte, dauerte es 15 Minuten, bis der Parkservice den Wagen geholt hat. Wenigstens die Lage ist sehr gut. Was uns allerdings auch sehr gestört hat, das man andauernt von Obdachlosen  und Bettler angesprochen worden ist. Ihre Anzahl ist im Gaslamp überdurchschnittlich.
