Recent Ramada Mission Valley Sdsu Review: "Super 8 was a nice motel located in a convenient location. The location was a little "tricky" getting there, even with the aid of MapQwest due to a quick "bear to the left" and a "tight" turn immediately after the merge to get to the hotel drive way. However, once arrived the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about attractions; directions, etc. The continental breakfast was a nice accommodation, especially with the rising costs of commodities. The room was a bit smaller than the average but very clean and comfortable (i.e., the room is functional for it's established purpose to rest as average guest is in San Diego visisting the majority of time). Also, the microwave and room size refrigerator were another nice feature (especially for families to store convenience store consumables). NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: It would be an improved service to your staff to include "tip" envelopes in the room (as I kept leaving tips and the cleaning personnel kept leaving the tip on the dresser--which does exemplify honesty); however your staff clearly works hard and deserves the tips. I stayed for 6 nights; therefore, the following days I left double the tip and had to leave a note (i.e., gracias "tip") on top of the money for 4 of the days (as the prior days the tip was left in the room).
NOTE TO GUESTS: The interstates of San Diego can be challenging and the parking costs can be pricey. The city of San Diego has a GREAT rapid transit system (trolley, bus combination) and a trolley stop is only a 5 minute walk East of the motel (we all need exercise). THe cost is $5 per person for a daily pass and the system is easy to learn. I travelled all over San Diego (i.e., La Jolla, the Zoo (currently Costco offers a 2 day pass to the Zoo for the price of a 1 day pass (plus, the cost is cheaper than a 1-day pass at the gate), down town, Viejo casino, etc.) and really got a feel for the city and the people. The transit is fast and convenient and both systems run every 15 minut"
